名損, 字子騫
He lost his mother early. His father remarried.
His stepmother had
two sons.
They were clothed with cotton
wadding.
Min Sun was clothed with reed catkins.
One day, his father ordered Sun to drive the carriage.
Feeling cold, he dropped the whip.
His father, knowing the reason, wanted to expel his stepmother.
Sun said, "With one mother, one son is warm;
without her, three sons are cold."
The stepmother heard this and finally repented.
A poem was written to praise him.
The poem says: The Min family had a virtuous son.
He never resented his stepmother. He left his mother by the carriage, so his
three sons were spared from wind and frost.
閔子騫（前536年—前487年），名損，字子騫，春秋末期魯國人。孔子弟子，孔門十哲之一，以德行修養著稱，與顏淵並稱，並以「孝」聞名，為二十四孝之一。他為人孝友廉潔，曾在《論語》中被描述為侍奉孔子時態度從容且恭敬。
《論語》形容他「誾誾如也」（態度和悅耿直）。
《二十四孝》、 四、單衣順母 周朝閔子騫：
周。閔損。字子騫。早喪母。父娶後母。生二子。衣以棉絮。閔損。衣以蘆花。一日。父令損御車。體寒失鞭。父察知其故欲出後母。損曰。母在一子單。母去三子寒。後母聞之。卒悔改。系詩頌之。詩曰 閔氏有賢郎。何曾怨後娘。車前留母在。三子免風霜。
