Narcissus
This is one of the worst love stories
in all of mythology.
The tragic story of Narcissus, the boy who fell in love with himself.

Narcissus was the son of the river god
Sophissus and a nymph named Laria.
He was so stunningly handsome that
even as a child, his mom feared for his future.
His worried mother consulted the blind prophet
Tyresius who gave her a strange warning.
The boy will live a long life as long as he never comes to know himself.
As he grew older, he became a very handsome
hunter admired by everyone.
Both men and women across the land of Fesp
approached him, but he coldly rejected all of them with a chilling lack of
interest.
One of his many admirers was Ekko, the
mountain nymph, who carried a terrible curse.
She could not speak.
Hera cursed her to only echo the last words spoken to her for helping
Zeus distract her with gossip while he had affairs with other nymphs.
When Narcissus was 16, he went hunting
with his friends and got lost.
When Ekko saw him wandering alone in the
woods, she followed him, driven by a love she couldn't express, hoping
for a chance to reveal her love.
Sensing he was being followed, Narcissus called out, "Who's there?"
Ekko answered softly, "Who's there?"
She revealed herself and tried to embrace him, but Narcissus pushed her away in disgust.
Heartbroken, Ekko wasted away until only her voice remained, echoing through the mountains.
As time passed, a young man named Amanius also approached Narcissus, but
he just mocked him, even gave him a sword
and walked away.
Heartbroken, Amanius took his own life at Narcissus' door,
praying for revenge.

赫拉詛咒她只能重複最後對她說的話，因為她曾幫助宙斯用流言蜚語分散他的注意力，而宙斯則與其他仙女尋歡作樂。
納西索斯十六歲那年，和朋友們一起去打獵，結果迷路了。
艾可看到他獨自在林中徘徊，便循著他而去，心中湧起一股難以言喻的愛意，希望能有機會向他表白。
納西索斯察覺到有人跟踪，便問道：「誰在那裡？」艾可輕聲回應：「誰在那裡？」
她現身，想要擁抱他，卻被納西索斯厭惡地推開。艾可心碎不已，日漸消瘦，最終只剩下她的聲音在群山間迴盪。
時光荏苒，一位名叫阿瑪尼烏斯的年輕人也曾接近納西索斯，但他卻嘲笑他，甚至給了他一把劍，然後揚長而去。
阿瑪尼烏斯悲痛欲絕，在納西索斯的門前自盡，祈求復仇。復仇女神涅墨西斯聽到了他的祈禱。
