another adventure so today is October 8th and as we're walking down the Mean Streets of Chinatown

 

we noticed that they have these banners up here

a lot of the Republic of Chinese flag

 

and also The Double 10 Day so what is the

 

significance of October 10th

 

in thisvideo I'll try to explain the history

 

behind it so join me as jacksoft to history here in Chinatown

in the 1800s China was ruled by the Qing Dynasty which by the way were manchurians

 

so there was always that resentment against them but also around

 

that time though the Qing dynasty was

 

going through some tough times to go into a steep decline

 

they just lost the Opium War to Great Britain they had the

 

taipan Rebellion which resulted in millions of death

 

that was famine economic instability and that's one of the reasons why you have all these Chinese people moving out of China

 

coming to places like San Francisco establishing a chat like right here 200 years

 

 

 

when your country isn't speed Decline government doesn't give a about you you're

 

going to have a lot of pissed off people

 

and what a such pissed off person is the famous revolutionist Sunyasen and

 

according to the artist's interpretation he looks something like this

 

so Sunyasen came to all these overseas

 

Chinese Community like over here in San Francisco's Chinatown he went over to

 

Stockton he went over to Marysville he

went to the Sacramento Deltas trying to

fund raise and gain support for his

 

Revolution against the Qing Dynasty he was probably saying stuff like yo all

 

you Chinese guys the reason why you guys are here in San Francisco mining for gold

 

doing hard labor building railroad is because

of the Qing Dynasty's incumbency so join me in my Revolution

 

and we can overthrow them then you guys can all go back home and make sweet love to your wives to your girlfriends and see your family and the dudes are probably

 

like yeah the people like Revolution or actually
