Venus and the white cat

 

There was a white cat who lived in the corridor of a large house.

This white cat likes to cling to the revolving pillars at dusk and watch the passers-by on the road.

Whenever the sun sets, there will always be a handsome young man passing by the door of the house.

His handsome figure deeply attracts the white cat every time.

Time after time, day after day, the white cat found that she had fallen in love with that young man.

One day, the white cat finally decided to muster up the courage to express his love to the young man.

Just after dawn, the white cat couldn't wait to dress up.

She licked the white fur that she was most proud of, smoothing it again and again, looking forward to the coming of dusk.

The sun gradually went down, and the familiar figure was walking towards the house.

The white cat immediately jumped up to the gate of the house with excitement, showed its most beautiful side, and called the young man in the gentlest voice.

 Everything was just like before. The young man was still walking in front of the house in a hurry, without even slowing down.

In fact, the entire street was still full of pedestrians, and no one noticed such a cat at all.

白貓「砰」的一聲從階梯上摔了下來。牠傷心極了。「唉，誰教我是一隻貓呢!」白貓非常痛心的嘆息著，「假如我是一位美麗的少女，那該是多麼幸福啊!」

 

　　就在牠自怨自艾的時候，牠忽然興起了一個念頭：「啊，我何不到愛神Venus的神殿去祈求呢?說不定她會幫助我完成心願。」

 

白貓千里迢迢的來到了Venus女神的神殿，哭著向女神請求幫助。女神聽見了白貓的哭訴，既同情牠的遭遇，也被牠的癡情所感動，於是答應了牠的請求，把牠變成了一個美麗的少女。

 

　　變成了少女的白貓，又回到昔日的宅院，滿心歡喜的再次期待著黃昏的來臨。在金黃色的暮色裡，另牠朝思暮想的身影又出現了。

 

少女輕柔的叫喚著。青年停下了腳步，緩緩的轉過身來......

 

　　「哇，多美麗的女孩兒!」青年心頭一楞，「白嫩的皮膚，輕盈的身影，還有那銀鈴般的聲音......」青年竟然一眼就愛上了眼前的少女。從那天起，他們常常相約一起到各地去玩，一起談天。後來他們終於結婚了。

 

　　儘管Venus女神已經完成了白貓的心願，但是她仍然想看這隻已經變成了人的貓，究竟能不能真正的過著人的生活。一天晚上，青年和他心愛的妻子正手拉著手，在房裡愉快的談天。這時候，女神悄悄地在少女面前放出了一隻老鼠。

 

　　本來和丈夫談天談得正高興的少女，這會兒突然看見房間裡出現了一隻老鼠，忍不住撇開了丈夫，立刻從椅子上一躍而起，對著地上的老鼠猛撲過去。

 

Venus女神眼看著白貓雖然擁有少女的外貌，卻無法根除本性，就在少女緊捉著老鼠，正要送入嘴裡的那一剎那，又把牠變回一隻白貓。
