Otus 與 Ephialtes

 

    Otus與Ephialtes是海神Poseidon的兒子，他們是雙胞胎。

他們從小就有著想擊敗神明的夢想。他們囚禁了戰神Ares，把他用銅鍊綁起來，

奧林帕斯眾神便派狡猾的使神Hermes去搭救Ares，Hermes就趁著晚上把他偷偷放出監牢。

　　後來兩個傲慢的青年更大膽了，他們說以前巨人族曾把 Ossa山堆在Pelion山上，現在他們要把Pelion山堆在 Ossa山上，量一量天到底有多高。

眾神對於他們的狂妄態度已經忍無可忍，宙斯也準備好雷霆要打他們，他還沒出手，Poseidon就跑來求情，說他保證好好管教兩個兒子，請宙斯手下留情。

宙斯答應了，Poseidon也遵守諾言。雙胞胎不再向天庭挑戰，Poseidon很開心，卻沒想到他們其實另有別的計劃。

　　Otus thought it would be an interesting adventure to kidnap the queen Hera, while Ephiates fell in love with the goddess Artemis.

However, this may be his illusion, because the two brothers have a good relationship and only care about each other.

 

He will fall in love with the goddess Artemis.

It is really impossible for others. They drew lots to see who would act first, and fate chose Ephiates.

They searched for Artemis in the mountains and woods, and finally they found her on the beach, walking toward the sea.

Artemis knew the two brothers' bad intentions and knew how to punish them. They jumped over and chased her.

She was walking on the waves on the sea.

 Poseidon's mermaids also had this ability. They caught up with her easily.

　　She led the two brothers to the forested island of Naxos, and they were about to catch up with her, but in the blink of an eye, Artemis disappeared.

They saw a charming white doe jumping into the forest.

As soon as they saw it, they immediately forgot about the goddess and immediately ran to chase the beautiful white deer.

The white deer lost its trace in the dense forest. They split up to chase it to increase their chance of success.

Suddenly, they simultaneously saw the white deer standing in the clearing in the forest with its ears erect, but they did not see their brother standing in the trees on the other side.

They threw their javelins, and the weapons struck across the clearing and into the trees.

 The two brave young men were pierced by each other's javelins and fell to the ground.
