Leto's story

Leto's story

Leto was, in classical mythology, a Titan, the daughter of Coeus and Phoebe.

Zeus fell in love with her, but when she was about to give birth to a child, Zeus abandoned Leto because he was afraid of his wife Hera.

All the countries and islands did not dare to take her in for fear of Hera's wrath.

In despair, she kept wandering and finally came to a small floating island on the sea.

It had no foundation and was beaten by wind and waves.

It was very unsafe and was bare and covered with rocks.

This island was called Delos Island.

Leto took refuge there, and the island welcomed her happily, and then stretched out four tall stone pillars from the bottom of the sea, firmly supporting the island forever.

Later, Leto gave birth to children there, who later became the sun god Apollo and

his sister moon god Artemis.

In the future, the temple of Apollo was erected on the island of Delos, and people from all over the world came to visit it.

This barren rock island is called "the island built by heaven".

It was once the most despised, but later it became the most famous island.
