成語【無可奈何】story
The idiom "無可奈何" means that there is no way or no way to think of.
The source comes from "Warring States Policy." "Yan Policy e III"(燕策三).
At the end of the Warring States Period, the Qin State(秦國) became powerful and continued to send troops to invade and
occupy the territories of other countries.
At that time, Yan(燕國) was a weak country in the northeast.
Initially, in order to be friendly with Qin, King Yan
handed over Prince Dan(太子丹) to Qin as a hostage.
In Qin, Prince Dan received very poor treatment.
After Prince Dan fled back to Yan, in order to resist Qin's
invasion and take revenge, he was introduced to Jing Ke(荊軻) and asked him to be an assassin and go to Qin to
assassinate the King of Qin(秦王).
Since Jing Ke was delayed in setting off, Prince Dan urged him to set
out quickly.
Jing Ke said, "Even if I arrive in Qin, the King of Qin will not see me!
Unless I can go there with Fan Yuqi's(樊於期) head and Dukang's(督亢) map,
maybe There will be a chance to meet the King of Qin.
"Fan Yuqi(樊於期) was a general of the Qin State.
Because he offended the King of Qin, he fled to the
State of Yan.
The King of Qin offered a reward of a thousand pieces of gold for his head.
Prince Dan heard
this and said,
"General Fan has come to seek refuge with
me.
How can I kill
him for myself?
Please think of another way."
Jing Ke knew that Prince Dan could not bear to kill Fan
Yuqi, so he went to see Fan in private.
Yu Qi, tell him this idea.
After Fan Yuqi heard this, he immediately pulled out his sword and committed suicide on the spot.
Prince Dan heard about this and rushed to stop it, but it was too late.
He lay on Fan Yuqi's body and cried bitterly.
At this point, there was nothing to do but put Fan Yuqi's head in a box, seal it, and give it to Jing
Ke to take him to Qin to see the King of Qin.
Later, "helpless" was used to mean that there was no way or nothing to think about.
