【英文月份的由來】
【 英文月份的由來 】 From/ 巨匠英文 021/12/17 相信大家開始學習英文的時候遇到英文月份覺得相當頭大，為什麼不是像中文一樣更改 數字 就好呢 ? 其實英文的月份可追溯到 古羅馬時代 ，所以英文的月份都與羅馬神話有關喔！ 【 一月 January 】 一月 January 來自於古羅馬 門神 Janus ，象徵開始也是結束，一年的第一個月可以期待新年的到來並且緬懷過去的一年，故一月 January 取自於 Janus 之名。 【 二月 February 】 二月 February 的名字得自於 Februa ，此節日在古羅馬代表淨化的節慶。 【 三月 March 】 三月 March 取自於羅馬戰神 Mars ，原羅馬曆法是由 March 開始，但是經過曆法變革後才加入 January( 一月 ) 以及 February( 二月 ) 。 【 四月 April 】 四月 April 與拉丁文 aperire 有關，有著 open 的意涵，就像 花朵在春季綻開 一樣。 【 五月 May 】 五月 May 得名於女神 Maia ， Maia 主要掌管 植物的生長 ，她也被認為是萬物的滋養者，代表著生生不息。 【 六月 June 】 六月 June 源自於羅馬女神 Juno 之名，她主要的職責包含婚姻、生育跟女性的福祉。 九月 September 字根源於羅馬字 septem 代表「七」； 十月 October 字根源於羅馬字 octo 代表「八」； 十一月 November 字根源於羅馬字 novem 代表「九」； 十二月 December 字根源於羅馬字 decem 代表「十」。 看到這相信大家一定很 困惑 ，如果原本 September 到 December 代表七到十月，那麼我們現在熟知的七月 (July) 跟八月 (August) 去了哪裡？ 【 七月 July 】 七月 July 的名字來自於凱薩大帝 ( Julius Cesar ) ，為了紀念他因此以他的出生月分取名為 July 。 八月 August 的名字...
